AI governance requires more than policies
1 September 2026
Governance also requires an understanding of models, use and organisational consequences.
Policies and guidelines are a necessary foundation, but they are not enough on their own once AI becomes part of everyday work.
Models have limitations and biases, use often emerges in smaller organisational corners than the policies cover, and the consequences are felt in decisions and workflows.
Good AI governance therefore combines governance frameworks with an understanding of how AI is actually used in the organisation.
